The fire has taken the fate of this grand building out of the hands of those who have and/or should have been the temple’s most ardent supporters.

Long-time fans who tried include Virginia Potter, who admitted “I just might start crying” when I called Tuesday morning to ask about the loss.
Of all the historic buildings in Aurora, this is the one she felt was most unique and most worth saving, she told me.
